The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Brunswick, Georgia, serves as the U.S. Government's primary training resource for law enforcement officials. From border guards to state troopers, nearly 50,000 trainees pass through FLETC's front gates each year. On their way, they also pass by Night Vision's new field office.

"Because we are not a federal agency, we cannot be located on-site inside the FLETC compound," says Les Hodges, Marketing manager of Federal Law Enforcement Sales for Night Vision. "The next best thing is to be right outside their front door, because every student, every employee and every instructor comes and goes through this entrance."

Opened in early 2003, the field office allows Night Vision to provide training support for its products without any delay. On-site product demonstrations are held weekly for FLETC students and instructors, and Night Vision personnel have been called upon to both teach classes and develop a curriculum for night vision training.

Nearly 76 federal agencies use the training services of FLETC, and almost 70 percent of all Homeland Security personnel will graduate from this facility. FLETC's high-tech training facilities allow instructors to cover most any scenario that might present itself in the line of duty, including low-light activities that require night vision equipment.

In addition to cultivating customers, the new Night Vision field office allows the company to collect product improvement ideas.

"Frequent contact with these federal law enforcement personnel will provide us with more direct and immediate feedback regarding Night Vision equipment performance, which will lead to improved responsiveness to user concerns and suggestions,' says Hodges.
