![]() With ITT Industries' stated goal of increasing customer satisfaction, it's no surprise that the winners of the company's second annual Communications Best Practices Awards were all customer-focused projects. Lowara and Fluid Technology both built new websites that make it easier for customers to learn about their products and find timely information, and for them to identify customer needs. The Lowara creative team had one rule -- users must be able to reach all information within three clicks. "If you lose customers on your website, you could also lose them as customers," says Claudia Beggiato, who led the Lowara website makeover. Fluid Technology's goal was to make its vast portfolio of products and brands more understandable to users. The new website offers a birds-eye view of the business -- literally -- and lets visitors see what products are available in their industry. The final winner, A/CD, developed a video to help showcase the capabilities of its SUO/SAS battlefield radio to the U.S. Army customer. By distributing the video to the soldiers who would use the radios, A/CD was able to build a groundswell of support for what is now a multi-million dollar project.
