UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- ITT Industries
(NYSE: IIN) has appointed Robert L. Ayers President of its Industrial Pump
Group, effective October 1, 1998. The Industrial Pump Group is a $600 million
unit within ITT Industries' Fluid Technology business serving industrial and
process markets worldwide under globally recognized brand names such as Goulds
Pumps, A-C Pump, Richter and Vogel.
Mr. Ayers has been President of Sulzer-Bingham Pumps, Inc. since 1990, and
he was also President of Sulzer Industrial USA. In addition, he is currently
President of the Hydraulic Institute -- the North American association of pump

Before Sulzer, Mr. Ayers was Director of Marketing and New Business
Development at FMC Corporation, and President and CEO of the US subsidiaries
of Lanzagorta International.
After Vietnam Service as a US Army Lieutenant, he began his business
career with Armco Inc., where he was Product Manager in Venezuela, then
General Manager of Armco Mexicana. He later became General Manager for
Products, Sales and Engineering at Armco's National Supply Company and served
as President of their Baylor Company subsidiary.
Mr. Ayers holds an MBA degree from Old Dominion University and a BSEE from
the Virginia Military Institute.
He will be based at the ITT Industrial Pump Group headquarters, Seneca
Falls, New York.
