Blue-Generation FRCIR series and CA Bayonet connectors provide a customized solution to upgrade more than 5,000 critical power connections helping ensure decades of reliability in harsh weather environments.

SANTA ANA, CALIF., Sept. 16, 2014 – ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) and its Veam and Cannon brands are announcing the completion of a connector upgrade project with Danish Railways (DSB) at 2014 InnoTrans.  ITT Veam and ITT Cannon blue-generation FRCIR series and CA Bayonet connectors made it possible to maintain the well-established reliability of DSB railcars, helping ensure safe transportation across Denmark.

Electrical connectors between each railcar are continuously exposed to harsh weather conditions, making them susceptible to corrosion. ITT's Veam FRCIR series and ITT Cannon CA Bayonet connectors provide Danish Railway a robust, reliable and cost-effective solution to minimize the risk of railcar damage and unplanned downtime due to corrosion.

ITT Veam and ITT Cannon blue-generation connectors seamlessly marry with existing technology on each railcar, eliminating upgrade barriers and avoiding unexpected costs. These connectors combine RoHS and REACH compliance and improved performance with a zinc nickel plating, offering heightened protection against the most severe environmental conditions including resistance to 500 hours of salt spray and withstanding temperatures from –55C to + 125C (--67F to +257F).

"ITT Veam and ITT Cannon offered the DSB project team a customized solution addressing its specific rail application needs and parameters," said Lorenzo Bonadeo, senior product manager with ITT's Interconnect Solutions business. "ITT Veam FRCIR series and ITT Cannon CA Bayonet connectors are of the highest quality and reliability, and are designed to meet Europe's most stringent compliance standards."

ITT's Veam and Cannon blue-generation interconnects were developed and delivered on time and the project team completed the comprehensive connector upgrade across DSB's fleet of railcars meeting stringent key performance (KPI) measurements.

ITT's InnoTrans exhibit will be located in Hall 10.1 Stand 216.
