ITT Marks its Commitment to Philanthropy on International Corporate Philanthropy Day

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., February 22, 2010 — Today, ITT Corporation will mark International Corporate Philanthropy Day, an annual celebration of corporate philanthropic initiatives and the business community's investment in creating a healthier, stronger society. The company will highlight its long-held commitment to corporate philanthropy, expressed through its signature corporate citizenship program, ITT Watermark®, and will join global business leaders to share its perspective on strategic corporate philanthropy.

In honor of International Corporate Philanthropy Day, ITT will host Randy Martin, director of global emergency operations at Mercy Corps, at an employee luncheon which will be recorded and made available to ITT's global employee base, customers and the public at www.ittwatermark.com.

Additionally, Angela Buonocore, senior vice president and chief communications officer at ITT will join the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) and senior executives from leading companies to ring the New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell.

Steve Loranger, chairman, president and chief executive officer and Bjorn von Euler, director of corporate philanthropy at ITT, will also participate in CECP's celebratory events. Loranger will engage with CEOs from many of the world's largest companies at the fifth annual CECP Board of Boards CEO Conference and von Euler will attend a United Nations co-hosted event focused on engaging philanthropy to promote gender equality.

The 2010 celebration of International Corporate Philanthropy Day is part of ITT's larger commitment to corporate philanthropy and corporate responsibility. Launched in August 2008, ITT Watermark's mission is to make a sustainable mark in the world by providing safe water to children and families in need. To accomplish this goal, ITT has pledged an initial $4-million over three years (2008-2010) to three nonprofit partners. ITT is working with Water For People and China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to 300 schools in the developing world, ultimately serving hundreds of thousands of children and their families. Additionally, ITT is working with Mercy Corps to proactively secure safe water supplies that people can access in times of emergency.

From 2008-2009, ITT Watermark has provided safe water and sanitation to more that 115,000 children in 183 schools around the world; delivered safe water to more than 400,000 people following emergencies and has generated more than 20,000 volunteer hours towards local and global volunteer activities.
