QLC Solderless Plug connectors save time and reduce costs by up to 30 percent during the soldering process for medical applications

SANTA ANA, CALIF., Nov. 6, 2014 – From ultrasound imaging to handheld devices, sophisticated medical technologies require components that can meet the most stringent and demanding performance specifications. At Electronica 2014, ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) and its Cannon brand will be showcasing connector solutions that offer manufacturers the enhanced connectivity, lighter weights and smaller form factors that their rapidly evolving technologies require.

At Electronica, ITT will introduce its innovative Cannon QLC Solderless Plug, which builds on the reliable mating design of Cannon's established QLC solution to provide enhanced ease of use and cost savings to the medical technologies industry. The plug eliminates the need for hand soldering fine pitch contacts onto printed circuit boards, which can reduce assembly time by up to 15 percent (approximately 4.5 minutes) and reduce costs by up to 30 percent during the printed circuit board assembly and soldering process.

"ITT Cannon is a committed partner to medical equipment manufacturers, focused on delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions that are engineered to provide reliability, efficiency and cost savings in the most critical applications," said Anh Phan, General Manager of Medical Tech with ITT's Interconnect Solutions business. "Medical diagnostic, imaging and patient monitoring equipment must reliably and consistently perform. Our latest technology advancements with the QLC Solderless Plug give the industry an easy-to-use solution that optimizes performance while reducing overall costs in the most demanding environments."

The ITT Cannon QLC Solderless Plug will be showcased at ITT's exhibit at Electronica 2014 on Nov. 11-14 in Hall B4 Stand 428.
