As a founding sponsor of the National Women’s Hall of Fame we are excited to be a part of the biennial induction ceremony honoring women from different fields and backgrounds that have significantly contributed to gender equality.
At ITT our commitment to making a difference in this world goes beyond manufacturing. This month, our Industrial Process team in Seneca Falls, New York, hosted at its facility a handful of inductees into the 2019 Women's Hall of Fame and also sponsored the organization's celebratory events over the weekend. As a founding sponsor of the National Women's Hall of Fame we are excited to be a part of this important biennial event honoring women from different fields and backgrounds that have significantly contributed to gender equality. As the host of Friday's event, Seneca Falls employees had the opportunity to meet some of the inductees, who came to the site to participate in a town hall, sharing their backgrounds and insights about women’s rights.
Seneca Falls, New York is home to one of the most famous U.S. historical moments – the women’s rights movement. In 1848, the first Women's Rights Convention was held in the area, beginning the discussion of equal rights between men and women. Seventy-two years later (in 1920) the 19th amendment to the Constitution of the United States was ratified, allowing women to vote (among other rights). In 1969, Seneca Falls created the National Women’s Hall of Fame, honoring the place where the movement began. As a long-time employer in the region and supporter of equality, ITT's Goulds Pumps business has been a proud sponsor of the Women's Hall of Fame since its inception!
