ITT announces significant environment, social and governance progress in new Global Citizenship Report

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., October 7, 2010 — ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) today announced the release of its 2009-2010 Global Citizenship Report. The report, which can be found at: itt.com/citizenship/report/, demonstrates significant environment, social and governance progress and sets measurable goals for improvement in key areas.

Highlights of the report include the fact that over the past five years ITT's operations have reduced energy consumption by 31 percent, water use by 27 percent, hazardous waste generation by 46 percent and intensity of greenhouse gas emissions by 51 percent. ITT is targeting an additional 15 percent reduction in all of these areas over the next five years. Furthermore, ITT reports that by the end of 2010 its signature corporate citizenship program, ITT Watermark®, will have provided access to safe water and sanitation to 500,000 people and that by 2013, the program aims to reach 1 million more people through a $10.5 million pledge.

For the first time, ITT's Global Citizenship Report includes videos featuring ITT executives' perspectives on various global citizenship topics. These videos are also available on YouTube at: youtube.com/ITTCitizenship.

Every year since 1996, ITT has published an annual report that documents performance in the areas of environment, safety and health. The company's reporting was expanded in 2006 to cover all aspects of global citizenship. ITT uses the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Sustainability Reporting Framework to report and track its progress.
