ITT extends counter-IED leadership with JCREW 3.2 production award

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., September 8, 2010 — ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) has been selected to produce mounted counter-IED systems under a contract awarded by the Naval Sea Systems command, Washington, D.C.

Joint Counter-Radio Controlled Electronic Warfare (JCREW) mounted systems are electronic jammers designed to prevent the initiation of radio-controlled improvised explosive devices (IEDs). This technology is critical to protecting U.S. personnel from the threat posed by IEDs.

"This award underscores our commitment and capabilities to protect armed forces that confront the IED threat," said Chris Bernhardt, president of ITT's electronic systems business. "As we strengthen our position in the counter-IED arena, this achievement is an important milestone in our refinement and production of this critical technology."
