Lowara®, Flygt® pumps and other ITT products integrate for comprehensive water solutions
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – June 24, 2010 – ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) announced today that it has secured three complete wastewater treatment plant contracts in Montemor-o-Velho, a municipality of Portugal. Figueira da Foz-based construction company Guilherme Goncalves Correia & Filhos, Lda. (GGC), selected ITT as an industry leader in comprehensive water solutions and to help drive its emergence into the wastewater treatment arena.
GGC, who partnered with design firm, Centro Tecnologico de Gestao Ambiental, Lda (CTGA) to bid on the project, will install ITT’s Flygt® and Lowara® pumps, Sanitaire® diffusers coupled with Atlas Copco blowers, and ITT’s Wedeco® UV reactors at three new wastewater treatment plants throughout Montemor-o-Velho.

When completed, the wastewater systems will ultimately process 1500 cubic meters of water and wastewater each day, serving a population of 30,000 people in Montemor-o-Velho and the surrounding area.

CTGA, an ITT partner for the past eight years, recommended ITT products as key components to win the wastewater treatment project bid. Eziquiel Abrantes China, managing director, CTGA, cites the company’s “leadership in energy efficiency and superior client service” as primary selling points in the firm’s design plans.

Construction on the first wastewater treatment plant began in March 2010. Project completion for all three plants is scheduled for first quarter 2011.
