Xylem prepares to launch with global reach, broad applications expertise, strong leadership team and innovative culture
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., October 17, 2011 — ITT Corporation’s water business will showcase its new products and new identity at the 84th annual Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC), a leading water industry exhibition focused on water quality, to be held in Los Angeles from October 15-19. This event comes just before the spinoff of ITT’s water business into a standalone global water technology corporation, Xylem, planned for October 31. The company’s strong product brands will continue to be leaders in the transport, treatment, testing and efficient use of water.
During the exhibition, ITT will introduce its newest products, including analytical instruments to measure pH, mV, temperature and conductivity quickly and accurately; low- pressure sewage pump stations and non-clog pumps under the Flygt brand, and WEDECO-branded energy-efficient ozone oxidation systems and UV wastewater disinfection systems. Gretchen McClain, current president of ITT Fluid and Motion Control and future chief executive officer and president of Xylem, will join a panel of top industry leaders in a session moderated by former U.S. EPA Administrator G. Tracy Mehan III, to discuss the future of water.
“Xylem is committed to solving today’s global water-related challenges,” said McClain. “As we approach our spinoff into a standalone water company, we look forward to working with our partners and customers to further drive innovation in the water space and ultimately, ensure that all people have a safe, steady supply of clean water.”
Upon completion of the spinoff, Xylem will be a leading global water technology provider, enabling customers to transport, treat, test, analyze and efficiently use water in public utility, residential and commercial building services, industrial and agricultural settings. The company will be uniquely positioned to deliver value through its market-leading product brands, applications expertise and technological strength across key water applications.
Xylem will continue to maintain a global presence, doing business in more than 150 countries through a balanced distribution network consisting of a direct sales force and independent channel partners. The company will be headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., with 2010 revenues of $3.2 billion and 12,000 employees worldwide.
