ITT Spotlights Its Plasma Cutting Solution at the 17th Beijing Essen Fair

Company focuses on innovation and premier customer experience to drive growth in key market

June 4, 2012, BEIJING – ITT Corporation’s (NYSE: ITT) Control Technologies business is displaying its plasma cutting products and solutions this week at the 17th annual Beijing Essen Welding & Cutting Fair. The company showcased its latest products including the KALIBURN plasma cutting system and the BURNY CNC cutting control platform.

The KALIBURN plasma cutting solution offers outstanding high-precision cutting, torch height control and metal cutting processing capabilities. Less efficient shape-cutting machines and equipment can be updated with new KALIBURN plasma sources and BURNY plasma cutting control systems to improve quality, increase throughput, extend the life of existing equipment and eliminate costly secondary processing. The BURNY series provides a variety of high-precision shape cutting CNC systems designed for plasma, oxy-fuel, water jet and beveling applications.

ITT also exhibited its Ultra-Sharp technology designed for precision hole cutting that eliminates the need for secondary processing after cutting, which dramatically improves production efficiency.

“We have an excellent product, and participation in the Beijing Essen Welding & Cutting Fair gives us the opportunity to benefit from our customers’ experiences and get feedback from local users,” said LK Chua, ITT’s Control Technologies BURNY/KALIBURN Asia Pacific Manager. “We wish to work more closely with a greater number of Chinese plasma cutting equipment manufacturers and jointly promote the development of the plasma cutting industry in China so as to provide better service for the world’s largest cutting market.”

ITT’s R&D team uses the latest market intelligence to develop market-oriented products that satisfy evolving customer needs. Thanks to their innovative technical improvements to the earliest common plasma source, KALIBURN is now one of the highest-end precision cutting products on the market. The BURNY control systems have been in use in the United States for almost 40 years.

ITT has also established a customer service center and accessories warehouse in Wuxi, as well as a local service team. This infrastructure enables the company to deliver accessories made in the United States to Chinese customers within 24 hours and provide timely and convenient customer and technical service. Following years of market exploration, ITT’s domestic clients are expanding in the heavy machinery, vehicle manufacturing and shipbuilding industries.

The BURNY cutting system offers excellent stability and simple operation. The system software has been updated to version 5.2.0, a promising enhancement to precision stability. ITT has also developed a Chinese operating system to speed up Chinese users’ mastery of the system. By offering operations trainings led by local experts and prioritizing quality after-sales service, ITT demonstrates its confidence and commitment to the Chinese market.
