Innovative products and solutions meet broad range of customer needs
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 8, 2013 – Inside an aircraft cabin, there are a broad range of applications for which ITT has an innovative product or solution. From custom-engineered components that minimize vibrations and noise, to controls for overhead storage bins and passenger seats, to connectors for in-flight entertainment systems, ITT provides an array of technologies that offer its customers quality, performance, reliability and safety.
The company will showcase its capabilities for the aerospace market during Aircraft Interiors Expo 2013, one of the world’s largest events dedicated to this industry. The event, which last year drew almost 8,000 attendees from more than 85 countries, will be held April 9-11 in Hamburg, Germany. ITT will be exhibiting at Booth 5D20.
“As a global diversified industrial company, ITT has a strong presence in the aerospace industry, and we are well-positioned throughout this market with a solid portfolio, strong brand equity and a full global reach,” said Munish Nanda, president of ITT’s Control Technologies business.
“ITT provides lightweight and reliable products that improve passenger comfort and convenience while at the same time optimizing aircraft manufacturers’ weight objectives and lowering airline fuel costs. As these criteria continue driving new aircraft designs, modifications and upgrades, ITT will continue to enhance our global capabilities for the interior market and equipment segments we serve.”
At the show, ITT will highlight respected brands such as Enidine, which offers seat recline products as well as a wide selection of energy absorption and vibration isolation products that protect cabin interiors from noise and vibration, and Enivate, a seat actuation system that offers quiet and smooth repositioning directed by the passenger. In addition, the company’s Aerospace Controls team designs and manufactures valves, pumps and switches for fluid and environmental systems and utility actuators with applications for improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise.
ITT has components on major aircraft platforms for commercial, military, regional and business jets, and helicopters. A portion of ITT’s business is focused on supplying aftermarket services for maintenance, repair and overhaul to meet the critical need of airlines to update equipment and keep planes flying safely and efficiently. ITT also provides aftermarket services to global operators for spares, repair and overhaul through a FAA Certified 145 Repair Station.
