Presta™ Deep Water and Extreme Service Mechanical Splices with k-PaC™ Technology offer superior performance and ease of use in high-temperature and high-pressure environments
SANTA ANA, Calif., April 23, 2015 – ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) and its BIW Connector Systems brand will introduce a line of new mechanical splices for deep water and extreme service wells at the Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) workshop, booth 50-52, April 22-24 in The Woodlands, Texas.
"Our new line of Presta™ products reimagines ESP electrical cable splicing," said John Dutil, general manager of ITT's Interconnect Solutions Oil & Gas business unit. "Not only do they offer longer lifetimes in the harshest conditions, they are faster to assemble, accommodate different-sized cables on either end and require no special expertise to install."
BIW will debut two new products in the Presta™ family of mechanical splices, engineered to reliably deliver power to submerged pumps in high-temperature, high-pressure wells.
- The Presta™ Deep Water Mechanical Splice is designed for extreme pressures in excess of 15000 psi, as well as the repetitive pressure cycling conditions prevalent in deep water production.
- The Presta™ Extreme Service Mechanical Splice is built to resist harsh conditions, including temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit/204 degrees Celsius, pressures up to 5000 psi and high gas concentrations often experienced in downhole conditions below the packer.
For more than 40 years, BIW Connector Systems has connected the world to energy sources in some of the harshest conditions on Earth, helping energy companies meet the growing demand of their global customers. Our products provide reliable electrical penetration through well barriers and ensure the high performance and safe operation of submerged electrical pumps.
