VALENCIA, CALIF., April 17, 2015 – While retail customers have long embraced online shopping as a convenient and time-saving choice, e-commerce is now becoming a more popular choice for buyers of highly engineered products and solutions for manufacturing end markets.
To serve this growing need in the aerospace industry, ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) announced today that its Aerospace Controls team recently launched an e-commerce solution designed to meet customer demand while improving their efficiency and productivity.
ITT's Aerospace Controls team drove this innovative solution initially by developing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capability. The capability was designed and developed through partnering with a third-party aerospace aftermarket logistics provider.
"This capability will provide immediate quote response, order entry and real time inventory levels for ITT's Aerospace Controls aftermarket spares business to effectively meet our customers needs," said Steve Kim, Vice President and General Manager, Aerospace Controls.
While this solution was launched in late 2014, the team is already developing additional modules including Repair & Overhaul, which is scheduled to go live in 2015 to further expand its e-commerce capability.
