ITT to Open State-of-the-Art Automotive Friction Facility in Mexico

ITT's Motion Technologies business to break ground in 2016 on world-class friction production facility to serve the Americas



WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., March 15, 2016 – ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) will open a new North American friction manufacturing facility in Silao, in Mexico's Guanajuato state in 2017. The facility will expand ITT's global production capability for highly engineered brake pads for the automotive industry. Preliminary brake pad production is expected to begin in late 2017, with full rate series production planned for the first quarter of 2018.

The facility will implement state-of-the-art technology that adheres to ITT's global standards, including advanced material science expertise and high levels of product consistency.

In North America, ITT Friction Technologies also operates a research and development facility in Novi, Michigan. The business has a global presence that includes a research and development and production facility in Barge, Italy, and other major automotive operating locations in the Czech Republic and Wuxi, China, which was expanded in 2015.
