Breakthrough product helps operators in deep offshore and other harsh environments to optimize production, extend operating life and minimize costs
IRVINE, Calif., Jan 3, 2017 – ITT Inc.'s (NYSE:ITT) BIW Connector Systems brand has announced the launch of Tri-Lok Ultra, a robust, high-performance packer penetrator solution that helps oil and oilfield service companies operating in complex, high-pressure well environments to optimize production, extend operating lifetimes and minimize overall costs.
Representing a new approach for electrical penetration of oil well packers, Tri-Lok Ultra's versatile design supports faster installation, ease of use, longer operating life and the ability to withstand repeated decompression cycles.
"Our new Tri-Lok Ultra Packer Penetrator is highly engineered to support the Oil and Gas industry's dual need to maximize production and reduce costs," said John Dutil, vice president and general manager, ITT BIW Connector Systems. "It is specifically designed to improve ESP reliability in deep offshore wells and other harsh environments, where enhanced product lifetimes and performance are essential."
Tri-Lok Ultra Packer Penetrators achieve pressure blocking and electri¬cal termination in a single-phase construction. This unique design makes it one of the most versatile types of packer penetrators on the market, enabling it to fit into packers as small as 6.5-inches OD (outside diameter).
Rated and tested to 6,000 psi and 204 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit), Tri-Lok Ultra features ceramic pressure blocks, metal-to-metal seals and pressure-balanced cable termination. It is especially suitable for installations where extremely long life in high- temperature or high-pressure environments is required, such as offshore in-well ESP systems, sea-floor caisson ESP systems, high-temperature oil wells and wells with high intervention costs.
