Highly engineered shock and vibration isolation technologies provide military partners with critical solutions for a wide range of challenging defense applications

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., March 31, 2022 –  ITT Inc.'s (NYSE: ITT) Enidine brand will showcase a comprehensive portfolio of highly engineered shock isolation, energy absorption, and vibration isolation solutions for military and defense applications at next week's Sea-Air-Space Exposition, the largest maritime expo in the United States. Enidine's highly engineered and innovative products, which support military applications for shipboard, advanced weapons, naval electronics, ground transportation, and aerospace systems, will be on display at booth 615.

"Enidine is an expert in shock absorption and vibration isolation technologies. We provide partners with highly engineered components that protect their most challenging military applications," said Dan Radice, senior defense sales manager, ITT Connect and Control Technologies. "Enidine's ability to combine these technologies into a comprehensive solution allows for an extensive range of options to help customers meet their critical needs."

During the event, held from April 4–6 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md., Enidine will exhibit shock and vibration solutions including:

  • Highly Engineered Elastomers: In addition to its standard product line, Enidine develops custom elastomerics using advanced tools and techniques, including strut integrated isolators utilized on large cabinets and isolation struts. Enidine's custom Elastomeric Isolation Mounts provide dramatic noise reduction and vibration isolation, enabling systems to perform more smoothly, quietly and with less downtime, thereby achieving longer life. These elastomeric isolation mounts also have applications in industrial equipment, electronics and any other systems that require vibration reduction.
  • Hydraulics: Enidine's patented Shock Isolator Double Acting Spring (SIDAS) provides a low-pressure hydraulic damper to protect shipboard electronic equipment from damage incurred by shock forces in near miss-hit situations. SIDAS' pressurized condition (1,500 PSI) during a shock event ensures positive fluid sealing, providing long-life shock attenuation over the range of all four deck frequencies on naval vessels. Enidine's innovative hydraulics also are used on a variety of applications for weapon and missile systems.
  • HERMs: High Energy Rope Mount (HERM) Isolators are manufactured using wire rope isolators over-molded with a highly damped elastomer, making them a "fail-safe" design with a wider isolation capability than standard wire rope isolators. HERM isolators have successfully passed barge testing and reduced shock inputs to levels compatible with COTS equipment, providing an effective solution for containers requiring shock, vibration and structure borne noise isolation. HERMs are incorporated on a wide range of defense applications including naval cabinet isolation and rafted deck systems, radar systems, weapons and vehicles.
  • SKID Isolators : These isolators are designed to protect missiles from damage during transport from accidental drops or impacts. These large displacement isolators provide shock and vibration isolation under a wide range of environmental conditions and enable safe transport of munitions by land or air with a unique elastomeric technology. In addition, shipboard laser weapons systems rely on an assortment of Enidine motion control components including SKID isolators and HERMs to protect this high-impact, triple-threat defense system.
  • Wire Rope Isolators : Constructed of stainless-steel cable and aluminum retaining bars, the Enidine wire rope isolators attenuate shock and vibration, protecting machinery and equipment. The all-metal construction ensures they are completely unaffected by oil, chemicals, abrasives, ozone or temperature extremes, making them ideal for a multitude of military applications.

Enidine representatives will be available throughout the event at booth 615 to answer questions. For more information regarding Enidine's solutions, please visit www.enidine-defense.com.
