ITT Honored by VETS Indexes as a 2022 Recognized Employer

Tuesday, 26 Apr 2022

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 26, 2022 – ITT Inc. (NYSE: ITT) is proud to announce VETS Indexes has bestowed the designation VETS Indexes Recognized Employer as part of the 2022 VETS Indexes Employer Awards. The award recognizes ITT's commitment to recruiting, hiring, retaining, developing, and supporting veterans and the military-connected community.

"ITT is fortunate to have our amazing colleagues who are veterans and military family members. They come with an incredible array of experiences, wisdom, and accomplishments that contribute significantly to ITT's higher performing culture," said ITT's Veteran Resource Group sponsor, Dave Steblein, Senior Vice President and Industrial Process President. "We greatly benefit from the breadth of skills veterans acquire during their service to our country. Throughout the company and through our Veterans Resource Group, we strive to grow and strengthen our veteran workforce through professional development and mentorship."

As the most objective and comprehensive evaluation of veteran employers, the VETS Indexes Employer Awards have been featured on CNBC and military-specific outlets, including Military.com. Its in-depth survey and recognition program analyze employers' policies, practices, and outcomes in detail across five categories:

  • Veteran job candidate recruiting and hiring
  • Veteran employee development and retention
  • Veteran-inclusive company policies and culture
  • Support for members of the National Guard and Reserves
  • Military Spouse/Family Support

Nearly 120 organizations submitted surveys to be considered for the awards. Responding organizations included companies large and small, government agencies and departments, nonprofit groups, colleges, and universities. Not all organizations that submitted surveys were recognized with awards. The VETS Indexes Employer Awards are reserved only for employers whose veteran-related efforts stand out from the pack as the best.

"ITT has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to veterans and the military community through its efforts to recruit, support, and promote those who served our country bravely," said George Altman, managing director of VETS Indexes.

"One of the best ways to help veterans is to connect them with fulfilling and meaningful careers at organizations where they can develop their skills and grow into senior leaders. As a VETS Indexes Recognized Employer, ITT has proven to be a welcoming home for veterans and military spouses who want to start the next phases in their lives," Altman said.

ITT's veterans' recruitment strategy includes working in partnership with veterans' support agencies along with ongoing internal human resources training to keep talent recruiters educated and updated on how military service skills align with ITT's career paths. In 2021, ITT launched its Veteran's Resource Group to build and grow an inclusive veteran community across ITT.
